Description
The Tap-Off is a one-of-a-kind drumming practice tool that is the result of over a year of development between Tapspace and OffWorld Percussion. This unique, dual-surface practice pad combines the best of two worlds.
The main surface of the pad is a customized orange gum rubber, perfect for players who want to focus on practicing with active rebound. Even with its lively bounce, this surface has been designed to provide an audible articulation from the sound of the wood underneath. The black oval near the top of the pad is filled with OffWorld's own signature Darkmatter. This surface closely resembles that of a modern marching snare drum, allowing rudimental players to practice on a harder, more articulate surface. This combination of traditional gum rubber feel and the ultra-articulate Darkmatter makes the Tap-Off the perfect pad for both drumset players and rudimental drummers. You not only have two distinctly different sounding and feeling surfaces to play on, but you can really focus on split-hand exercises...ideal for practicing independence exercises or isolating each hand.
The pad also features a 360-degree stick-saving rim element. This high-impact, industrial strength nylon composite matrix is abrasion and weather-resistant. Underneath the pad, a 1/4" recycled rubber anti-slip ring keeps the Tap-Off safely in place while protecting the surface it rests on. All these factors together make the Tap-Off a truly one-of-a-kind practice pad!
Match your purchase of the Tap-Off pad with a Rat-Pad for even more options! The Rat-Pad is a layer of custom foam that is placed on top of the Tap-Off to remove rebound, allowing the player to focus on playing through it to reach the gum rubber underneath. Also ideal for extreme low-volume practice sessions. If you buy a Rat-Pad together with your Tap-Off, you'll save five bucks!
Curious how the Tap-Off might be utilitized in a classroom setting? Check out how one teacher is using them in a 3-tiered system to engage students of varying levels.
