Tapspace at PASIC 2009

The Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) is here, and we’re gearing up to show all the latest Tapspace gear at our booth at the Indianapolis Convention Center from November 11-14, 2009. We just unveiled a boatload of new concert solos and ensembles, so you’ll want to be sure to check those out. Plus, all items will be available at a discount, and we’ll have a Virtual Drumline station setup for demos, questions, and answers. Come see us in booth 338-40. Focus Day Performance of PRIME ORDINALS by Alex Harmon

Jim Casella’s unique composition, Prime Ordinals was just released. Alex Harmon will be performing it as a part of the PASIC focus day. It’s written for djembe with digital delay, prayer bowl, and audio soundscape and the piece comes with a unique software player for routing all the audio signals. Alex Harmon is a talented performer, so this will be a great chance to see the piece played by the artist for whom it was originally written.

Maraca2 Percussion Duo Clinic/Performance

Hailing from Birmingham, UK, and just completing an extensive USA tour, Maraca2 is a dynamic percussion duo who will be performing the exciting Tapspace piece Blue Motion by Stephen Whibley, which is also the title of their new CD. Tim Palmer and Jason Huxtable comprise Maraca2 and have quickly gained much international attention for their talents. They’ll also be premiering some ambitious new material which is sure to leave a mark. Don’t miss this performance!

Will Vizoso performs “Bolt!” in Marching Percussion Festival

Kirk J. Gay’s new book of timpani etudes and solos, Pedal to the Kettle, has become an instant hit and it was only released a few short months ago. As a part of the marching percussion festival, Will Vizoso will be performing Bolt!, one of the several creative pieces from Pedal to the Kettle. Look for Will’s performance in the college individuals category, scheduled at 7:34pm.

Danny Raymond Marching Percussion Clinic

Solo snare drum champion, Danny Raymond will be presenting a clinic toward the conclusion of PASIC that you won’t want to miss. We recently released Danny’s amazing new instructional DVD Let it Rip, and you can see him performing some of the solos from the DVD during his clinic.
