New Indiana Solo & Ensemble Manual Titles

The Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) just finished a major revision of their Required Music List for Group I. If you’re a Hoosier, you’ve six years to tackle these titles (this new list is in effect through the 2018–19 school year). If you have no idea what a Hoosier is and are worried that it’s a NSFW Google, that’s okay too. This selection of Solos and Ensembles is a great place to start searching for your festival performance no matter where you live.

Green Beats volume 5The Cavaliers percussion section will soon be holding auditions for 2014. Under the leadership of  Michael McIntosh, the official audition packets are now available to anyone vying for a spot in this prestigious ensemble.

For the best value, pick up a copy of the latest Green Beats, volume 5, which contains audition material for all percussion sections in score form. Alternately, you may purchase downloadable audition packets per section for $10 each.

FIVE MINUTE DRILL – Brand new book for beginning percussion now available!

We are excited to announce a brand new book+CD project entitled FIVE MINUTE DRILL by Ralph Hicks & Eric Rath. The book is a series of small exercises for practice pad and mallet keyboard that combine to form 5-minute sequences, each of which is accompanied by custom-tailored play-along tracks on CD-ROM. It is designed for both teachers and students. The project was brought about by Hicks and Rath who, as band directors themselves, recognized a lack of attention to daily fundamentals for many young classroom percussionists.
