Roger Carter’s Vortex is here.
Friday, August 8th, 2014Just in time for the wrap-up of the 2014 DCI season, we’re very proud to welcome Roger Carter to our family of artists with his intricate battery piece Vortex, as heard performed by the 2014 Bluecoats drumline. Vortex is an aggressive marching percussion piece rife with challenging polyrhythmic ideas through a constant 12/8 meter. Extended grooves, sectional breakdowns, and dense, rudimental rhythms that laugh in the face of silly barlines, there’s no escaping this Vortex.
